Warren Lee McEuen

1955 ~ 2022 (age 66)


Warren Lee McEuen, of Carrollton, was born on March 26, 1955, son
of Marshall and Sue (Gumm) McEuen. He passed away on February
10, 2022 in Louisville due to complications from cancer with his family
by his side.
After a childhood spent in Arlington Heights, IL, Louisville, and
Birmingham, AL, Warren graduated from Vestavia Hills High School
(Alabama), Western Kentucky University, and the University of
Louisville. On August 13, 1977 he married Susan Tucker at her
family’s home in Lexington, Kentucky. He taught French and Spanish
at Carroll County High School from 1984 to 2012. He was an assistant
football coach, head boys’ golf coach, and coach of middle school
girls’ basketball, as well as faculty chaperone for the Kentucky Youth
Assembly. He also led several student trips to Europe.
A lover of languages, Warren was able to put these skills to good use
during his many international travels and adventures with Susan. He
played golf for many years and was an avid sports fan, working visits
to major league baseball parks into family vacations, supporting UK
basketball as a season ticket holder, and rooting for the Chicago
During his retirement Warren rekindled a passion for Vespa motor
scooters and motorcycles, meeting and riding with other Vespa
aficionados from across the U.S. and around the world. He organized
and led excursions through places such as Tuscany, Italy, the
Pyrenees Mountains, and the Greek Isles and enjoyed the friendships
that he made with people from all over.
Warren was kind, sociable, and outgoing and could build an instant
rapport with just about anyone, and he has passed down his unique
sense of humor to his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted
father and grandfather and during the pandemic was able to stay
connected virtually, entertaining his grandchildren with elaborate
stories using Lego characters as props.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Susan; two children, Henry
(Katherine Goodwin) McEuen of Chicago, IL, and Mike (Em Comfort)
McEuen of Lexington, KY; brother Marshall (Kathy Scudder) Mac
Euen III of Birmingham, AL; two grandchildren, Walter McEuen and
Gloria McEuen of Chicago; two cousins; and many nieces and
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall McEuen, Jr.
(1995) and Sue McEuen (1996).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at General Butler State Park Conference Center on March 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M., which would have been Warren's 67th Birthday.  After the Celebration of Life Service everyone is encouraged to stay for refreshments and visit at the Conference Center.
