Sharon Riley

Sharon Ruth Hicks Riley, age 67, of Carrollton, KY passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Signature Healthcare of Carrollton.  She was born on September 21, 1954, in Carrollton, KY to the late James Jefferson and Anna Marie O’Connor Hicks.  Sharon was a homemaker, of the Christian faith and the youngest of eleven children.  She enjoyed cooking and baking, enjoyed playing many musical instruments, as well as singing. Sharon was a regular performer for many years at the “WHAS Crusade for Children” and was a writer having had a poem published that now hangs in the White House in Washington, D.C. She was a very generous person who collected dolls each year to give to area children as gifts.

Her survivors include; her husband; Allen Riley, whom she married on April 11, 1971, a daughter; Barbie (Greg) Brent of Carrollton, KY, two sons; A.J. (Moriah) Riley of Deputy, IN and Richie (Bethany) Riley of Owen Co., KY, fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by; a son; Fred Andrew Riley (03/04/2018), sisters; Elizabeth Martin, Barbara Mattingly, Bonnie Carter and Rita Hicks, six brothers; Jimmy, Jackie, Richard, Raymond, Benny and George Hicks.
