John Ryan “Spud” Perkins, 79, of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in Louisville, KY.
He was born on December 14, 1941, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, the son of the late John Perkins and Nellie Darnold Perkins. John had retired from Arkema Chemical Company in Carrollton, formerly M & T Chemicals from the shipping department. He had also worked as a Riverboat Pilot. In his spare time, he loved to play and coach softball, loved fishing, hunting, bowling, gardening, and doing carpentry work. He was an avid U.K. Basketball fan.
John will be missed by four daughters, Kim Horine and her husband, Steven of Florence, IN, Paula Davidson and her husband, Roger of Carrollton, KY, Jo Davidson and her husband Ronnie of Ghent, KY, and Jackelyn McClure and her husband, Lance of Patriot, IN, a son, John Lee Thomas Perkins of Patriot, IN, a brother, Glenn “Doodle” Perkins of Carrollton, KY, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Carolyn Perkins in 2008, four sisters, Shirl Perkins, Mona June Howard, Rhonda Marsh and Betty Short, three brothers, Theo Perkins, Delbert Perkins and Dale Perkins.
