Frances Ann McManis Watkins, 91, of Carrollton, KY, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, July 2, 2022.
The daughter of the late Joe S. McManis and Erby Brent McManis Bryant, born on September 11, 1930 in Carroll County, KY. She was a lifelong member of the Carrollton Christian Church. Her most prized moments in life, were being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Frances volunteered as a member of the Gray Ladies for the Carroll County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary beginning in 1957. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross as chair of the blood drive committee from 1975 to 1987. Frances and her late husband, Ray, enjoyed square dancing for several years as a member of the former Butler Generals Square Dancing Group in Carrollton. She had also served as a former chairman of the Carroll County Democratic Party.
Survivors include her son, Gary Ray (Dottie) Watkins of Lexington, KY, a very close granddaughter, Stacey Heather Watkins of Lexington, KY, brothers, Ken(Charlotte) McManis of Bedford, VA, and Joe McManis of Dry Ridge, KY, a sister, Janet McManis Darnold of Vevay, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marshall Ray Watkins, and her brother in-law, Roy Darnold.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
