David Clark

David Lloyd Clark, 74, of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on July 5, 1945 in English, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Lloyd C. Clark and Christine Meadows Clark.  He was a member of the English Christian Church in Carrollton.  He had retired from the Dow Corning Chemical Plant in Carrollton, having worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department.  He had also worked at the former Kawneer Manufacturing Plant in Milton, KY.  He loved selling used cars and talking to his customers after his retirement.  Some of his hobbies included playing cards, hunting, fishing and buying and selling almost anything.

He served his Country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era as a First Lieutenant and for his efforts he received a Bronze Star for distinguishing himself by outstandingly meritorious service in the connection with military operations against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam during the period of October 1968 to October 1969 and also the Army Commendation Medal.

In 2017 he was given the honor of traveling on the Kentucky Honor Flight for Vietnam Veterans and was chosen to place a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington D.C.

He is survived by his wife; Jo Kay Marshall Clark of Carrollton, KY, and a daughter; Sonnet Clark of Lexington, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two son’s at birth, one in 1966 and one in 1972, two brothers; Dennis Garr Clark at birth and Darrell Aden Clark on December 12, 2019.
