Chris Crase, 53, of Ghent, KY, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
He was born on August 11, 1966 the son of the late William Harrison Crase, SR. and Rebecca Ann McBurney. He had last worked as a field supervisor for West Carroll Water District #1 in Ghent until his health declined. He had previously worked for M & T Chemical Company in Carrollton. He enjoyed working in the home construction industry and on the family’s rental properties. He loved to farm and oversee it, giving guidance on how the family farm should be taken care of and operated.
He could be known as a tale teller and was always able to keep a straight face whenever he had a tale or story to tell. He loved to watch the national news media at night and tease his family sometimes twisting the story even more when he retold it. He was known to be a very good pool player and he also enjoyed playing a good round of golf. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time and be outdoors in nature.
He had attended Ghent Baptist Church and Carrollton Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Susie Burgess Crase, who was his high school sweetheart of 34 years, and they have been married for 23 years since February 24, 1997. Other survivors include his mother; Rebecca Ann McBurney of Carrollton, KY, the two father’s that raised him, Robert C. McBurney, JR. and William Miller, both of Carrollton, KY, his son; Trent Myles Crase and his companion; Stacie Renee Young of Ghent, KY, his brothers; Dean (Carole) Miller of Carrollton, KY, Harry (Debbie) Crase of Ghent, KY, and Robert (Traci) McBurney, II., two sisters; Tammy McBurney of Cincinnati, OH, and Hope (John) Clark of Independence, KY, a granddaughter, Macie Myles Crase of Ghent, KY, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother in-law, Larry McBurney, JR.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Private at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and the new reopening requirements we will be limiting our building occupancy to 50% of normal capacity, so please be prepared for a possible line as we will be monitoring the occupancy. We will also be strictly adhering to the 6 feet social distancing requirements. We also request that attendees please wear a face covering if possible.
