Alta Woodruff

Alta Fern Woodruff, 99, of McLean,VA, formerly of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at her home in McLean, VA.

She was born on June 17, 1921 in Falmouth, Bracken County, KY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ettie E. Hall Biddle.  She had worked in the hotel industry as a housekeeping manager.

She is survived by a son; Michael D. Woodruff of McLean, VA, a grandson; Griffin Andrew Layne of Cleveland, OH, a great granddaughter; Amelia Carolina Layne of Cleveland, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Barbara Kay Haley Nieberding in August 2015, two sisters; Florence Yelton and Alberta Riley, four brothers; Robert, Charles, John and William “Doc” Biddle.

Arrangements were entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
