William Paul "Billy" Arvin, age 75, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday evening, August 3, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, after a brief illness.
He was born on Wednesday, February 7th, 1951, the son of the late Luther and Emma Faye Kopp Arvin. Billy, as most people knew him, had retired from the Waste Water Treatment Plant with Carrollton Utilities after many years of service.
He had attended the Kentucky State Police Academy specializing as a Park Ranger, having worked at General Butler State Park and Resort in Carrollton for a few years.
Billy was a very patriotic person, having served and retired from the Army National Guard in Carrollton in 1994, after many faithful years of service to his Country. He was very active in the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton and had participated in the American Legion Honor Guard and the American Legion Patriot Riders. Some of his greatest moments were hanging out at the American Legion and patronizing with friends.
He was a member of the Carrollton Masonic Lodge #134 F.& A.M. and the regional Shriners Organization. Billy had been appointed an honorable Kentucky Colonel.
Some of Billy's favorite hobbies were riding motorcycles and side-by-sides and owning Corvettes. He had an admiration for the water too; he always enjoyed working on boats, going to shady rest at Point Park in Carrollton and just mowing grass around his neighborhood.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathy Krohn Arvin, two daughters, Melissa (Jamie) McGuire of Ghent, Kentucky, and Tammy (Donnie) Jones of Ghent, Kentucky, his sister, Lora Fay Arvin Ames of Carrollton, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Shani Jones Miles, Zachary Robbins, Devin Jones and Kaeley Robbins along with eleven great grandchildren.
He loved all his family and friends and spending special time with his nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Sammie Green.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the funeral home. Military Honors will be presented by the Carrollton American Legion Post #41 at the funeral home following the service
