William Norman Abbott, age 76, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away at home with his family by his side on August 24, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1950, in Henry County, Kentucky. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him.

William lived a life marked by service, faith, work, and devotion to the people around him. He founded Abbott Safety LLC and was a member of English Baptist Church as well as The American Legion. He served his country in the United States Marines and later in the Kentucky Army National Guard, reflecting a lasting commitment to duty and community. Among the accomplishments that brought him special honor was being named a Kentucky Colonel.

He also gave generously of himself in ways that touched everyday life in his community. In the 1980s, he helped start Little League in Carroll County, an effort that left a meaningful mark on many families. He enjoyed playing guitar, was a history enthusiast, and loved spending time with friends and family, simple pleasures that brought joy to his life and to those gathered around him.

William is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Abbott. He is also survived by his daughter, Nicole (Michael) Ulrey ; his sons, Jason (Christene) Abbott, Dusty (Deanna Harmon) Abbott ,and Travis (Chasity) Snow ; his sisters, Rosie, Darlene, Debbie and Joyce. His family circle also includes eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom were part of the deep love he held for his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Abbott, and his mother, Mary Jane Tucker Abbott, his sisters, Becky, Clara, Ruthie, and by his brother, Terry. 

William Norman Abbott will be remembered as a man who served his country, cherished his faith, valued his work, and found happiness in music, friendship, and family. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will take place on September 12, 2026 from 10 am - 12 Noon at English Baptist Church.
