Wilbert Fredrick "Freddie" Garriott, 65, of Carrollton, KY., died on Monday morning, June 27, 2005 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.

"Freddie" as he was commonly called around Carrollton was the son of the late Luke Garriott and Aline G. Aldrige McDole. He was raised by his late Aunt and Uncle; Undine & Wilbert Martin. He was a Retired Insurance Agent for Monumental Insurance Company. "Freddie" was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton.

He is survived by a loving family including his wife; Barbara Mefford Garriott , two daughters; Robin Garriott Smith of Carrollton, KY., and Rhonda G. Smith of Frankfort, KY., a sister; Evaline Hawkins of Louisville, KY., three brothers; Joe Garriott of Madison, IN., Steve Garriott of Carrollton, KY., and Estil Garriott of Louisville, KY., two grandchildren also survive; Macy Elise Smith and Mason Parker Smith, both of Frankfort, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised him, two brothers; Lawrence and Bobby Garriott.

The Rev. Chris White will officiate the service on Thursday at the First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Lance Garriott, Larry Garriott, Jerry Mefford, Randy O'Neal, Steve Wright & Marvin Kiper. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Garriott, John Wiley, Paul Cassidy, Doug Alexander, James F. O'Neal and David Wilhoite.

In Lieu of flowers the family would like memorial gifts given to a choice of three different memorial funds; The James Graham Brown Cancer Center or the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund or the First Baptist Church of Carrollton.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
