Ulysses Allen Ford, 96, of Carrollton, KY, the son of late Ira D. And Leila Lindsay Ford met his Heavenly Father on the morning of March 15th, 2024, at Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation in Vevay, Indiana.
Ulysses was born December 11, 1927, in Carroll County, Kentucky. He was lovingly known as “Fordy” and “Ford” by most who knew him.
Ford served in the Army for 4 years. He then transferred to the Air Force as an Airplane Mechanic, retiring in 1969. After service retirement, Ford joined Atochem as a boiler operator and retired in 1993.
Ford was also preceded in death by his brother Stanley Ford, his sister Elenor Ford Carter, wives Marie Miles Miller Ford, Jennie Scott King Ford, Jean Marlett Cain Ford, and companion Thelma Simmons Ward.
Fordy was a beloved and much-valued member of the Carrollton Wesleyan Church in Carrollton. He was extremely proud to be a part of his church family. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #41, the Retired Enlisted Association, and the AARP.
Ford is survived by many step children, cousin, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Team and the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
