Thomas Simmons

Thomas D. "Tommy" Simmons, 72, of Ghent, KY, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Signature Healthcare of Carrollton.

He was born on May 26, 1943 in Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Chester and Virginia Breeden Simmons. He was a Farmer and a former member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Perry Park, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Judy K. Forwood Simmons, of Ghent, KY, two sons, Paul Simmons of Ghent, KY, and Harry Mercer of Louisville, KY, two daughters, Peggy Dickerson of Worthville, KY, and Mary Dayton of Maryville, TN, a brother, Bobby Simmons of Worthville, KY, a sister, Wanda Bergman of Worthville, KY, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Simmons on November 23, 1995 and Virginia Breeden Simmons on March 8, 1990, a son, Christopher S. Simmons on March 8, 2012, a daughter, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Simmons on May 8, 2015, three brothers, Everette on September 11, 1965, Donald on October 16, 2009 and James Simmons, two sisters, Betty Taylor on January 23, 2013 and Bonie Cook.

In accordance with the family wishes Cremation has been chosen.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

No visitation is planned.

Funeral

A Graveside Service will be on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton .

Interment
