Theresa Lewellyn

Theresa Carolyn Lewellyn, 74, of Carrollton, Ky, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at her home in Carrollton.

She was born on September 25, 1948, in Madison, Jefferson County, IN, the daughter of the late Orville Jay Simmons and Virginia Ruth Brown Simmons. In her early life she had worked as a caregiver to the elderly and the Joyce Shoe Factory in Madison, IN.  Theresa had retired from the Kathryn Winn Primary Elementary School as a bookkeeper and the former Parkview I.G.A. Grocery Store in Carrollton.  She was a member of the Worthville Baptist Church and the Carroll County Homemakers.

Theresa always made sure her family was well cared for, especially her granddaughters and grand fur babies.  She enjoyed her yearly trips with her friends and weekly meals together.  She was a faithful woman and valued the time with her family and church family at Worthville Baptist Church.

Theresa will be missed by her two sons; Brent “B.J.” Lewellyn (Julia Flowers) of Madison, IN, and Chad Lewellyn of Union, KY, three grandchildren; Danielle Lewellyn of Milton, KY, Jordan Lewellyn of Colorado Springs, CO, and Madalyn Flowers of Madison, IN, several close friends she considered family and her extended family; Wanda Fay Harsin, Rhonda and Stephen Weaver.  Her grand fur babies were her pride and joy, Jeter and Georgie of Union, KY, and Oreo and Nola of Madison, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father; Orville Jay Simmons on November 11, 2015, her mother; Virginia Ruth Brown Simmons on December 18, 1999, and her husband; Eldie Jay Lewellyn on February 20, 2010.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
