Theodore Forbes

October 26, 1919 — January 17, 2005

Theodore Bates "T. B." Forbes, age 85, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, IN. He was born in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, OH, on October 26, 1919 to Theodore Bates (Sr.) and Wink Stringfellow Forbes who preceded him in death.

T. B. was retired from farming and was still active with 50 plus years service on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank in Carrollton, KY. He graduated form the University of Kentucky in 1941 with a degree in Agriculture. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was active over the years in the Carroll County A.S.C.S. and the Carroll County Farm Bureau. He received two purple hearts during his military duty and was a member of the Purple Heart Club. T. B. also was a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY and the Carrollton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sue Forbes Bottorff of Seymour, IN and Jennie Forbes Norris of Campbellsburg, KY; four grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Bourne Forbes in 1975 and his second wife, Patsy Tincher Forbes in 1998.

The Rev. Shannon Boaz, Pastor of Carrollton United Methodist Church will officiate the memorial service.

Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Arthritis Foundation or the Tsunami Relief Fund in care of the funeral home.
