Thelma Shields, 75, of Carrollton, KY., died on Saturday morning, March 10, 2007 at the Carroll County Regional Medical Center in Carrollton, KY.
She was born on January 22, 1932 in Carroll County, KY., the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Gracie Earlier (Potts) Smith. She was a retired Housekeeper and a member of the Carrollton Christian Church.
Survivors include five daughters; Linda Burns of Carrollton, KY., Betty J. Jones of Ethridge, TN., Diane M. Shields of Carrollton, KY., Janice F. Stewart of Owenton, KY., and Bonnie S. Shields of Carrollton, KY., two sons; Bobby Allen Shields of Danville, KY., and David M. Shields of Florence, KY., one sister; Joyce A. Mylor of Carrollton, KY., and one half sister; Gracie Hillis of Ghent, KY., eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Allen Caviness Shields and two brothers; Lewis Franklin and John Thomas Smith.
The Rev. Chris White conducted the funeral service on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton, KY.
Arrangements were entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
