Sandy Howard Boswell

Sandy Howard Boswell, 71, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on November 2, 2023, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Born on March 4, 1952, in Carrollton, Kentucky, Sandy lived a fulfilling life filled with love and dedication to his family, work, and community.

Graduating from Carroll County High School in 1970, Sandy embarked on a successful career that spanned several decades. He retired from Kentucky Utilities Ghent Generating Station in Ghent, KY after many years of service. Additionally, Sandy was the proud owner of Boswell Construction Company and played an instrumental role in building numerous homes for others. Even after retirement, he continued to stay busy by engaging in construction work as it brought him immense joy.

Sandy's passion extended beyond his professional life. He had an ardent love for University of Kentucky Basketball and was an avid fan. Watching games and cheering for his favorite team brought him great excitement.

He was baptized and raised in the Carrollton Christian Church and married the love of his life in the Ghent Baptist Church

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly five decades, Karen O'Neal Boswell, whom he married on December 14, 1974. The bond they shared exemplified the true meaning of partnership and enduring love.

He will be deeply missed by his three daughters: Ashley (Joe) McClure of Villa Hills, KY; Brooke Boswell of Carrollton, KY; and Breeanna (Justin) Furnish of Carrollton, KY. Sandy's presence will remain forever in their hearts as they carry forward the values that he instilled in them.

Additionally, Sandy leaves behind two brothers, Paul (Barbara) Boswell of Carrollton, KY, and John (Laura) Bowman of Louisville, KY, a brother-in-law, Walton B. ( Chaille) O'Neal of Raleigh, NC. Their shared memories and experiences will continue to bring them solace and comfort during this challenging time.

Sandy's pride and joy were his five grandchildren: Abigail McClure, Quinn Boswell, Bryce Furnish, Gavin Furnish, and Makenzie Furnish. Their laughter and smiles brought immense happiness to his life, and he will be dearly missed as they grow older.

Sandy's immediate family was a pillar of strength in his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Doris Ebert Boswell; stepmother, Ruby Boswell; sister, Sally Louise Boswell; father and mother-in-law, Ellis B. and Julia O'Neal; and brother-in-law Ricky O'Neal.

In these difficult times of bidding farewell to Sandy Howard Boswell, we take solace in the knowledge that he touched so many lives during his time with us. His memory will live on through the cherished memories shared by family members, friends, colleagues, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A visitation honoring Sandy's life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home located at 809 Highland Ave in Carrollton, KY. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 2:00 PM.  A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Brother Graham Reynolds officiating the service. The burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Ghent Baptist Church Building Fund or Donor's Choice.
