Robert Phillip "Bobby" Graves, known affectionately Bobby, was a beloved member of the community who dedicated his life to farming. Born on February 7, 1939, in Owen County, KY, Bobby had a deep-rooted passion for agriculture from an early age.
Throughout his life, Bobby worked tirelessly as a farmer, cultivating tobacco, beans, and corn. He also ran a successful dairy and raised beef cattle. His dedication to his craft was unmatched, and his commitment to providing for his family was evident in the fruits of his labor.
Bobby was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time on his porch, basking in the tranquility of nature. His green thumb was well-known throughout the neighborhood, as he took great joy in tending to his beautiful flowers and flourishing vegetable garden. Additionally, Bobby had an immense love for animals and treated them with kindness and respect.
His easy-going nature endeared him to all who knew him. Bobby had a warm smile and a kind heart that touched the lives of countless individuals. He approached every day with grace and sought to bring positivity into the world.
On November 30, 2023, Bobby passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side in Louisville, KY. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. However, his memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones.
Bobby's legacy will be honored through services held at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home located at 809 Highland Ave in Carrollton, KY. The visitation will take place on December 4th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on December 5th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will commence on December 5th at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn D. Graves, whom he married on Juky 3, 1980 and who stood beside him throughout their journey together. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Lisa C. (Jerry) McBurney of Owenton, KY, and his son, Barry L. (Lee Ann) Graves of Wheatley, KY. Additionally, Bobby shared a special bond with his step-children Donna Cobb of Owenton, KY and Mary Dawn (Andy) Edmondson of Glencoe, KY, Bobby's memory will also be cherished by his sister Carolyn Noe of Campbellsburg, KY. Bobby was blessed with a vibrant family that brought immense joy to his life. He treasured his 12 grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. Furthermore, Bobby adored his 22 great-grandchildren and ensured they were showered with love and affection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Arthur and Alberta Louise Bolling Graves, a step-son, David B. Stafford, and three step-grandsons, Randy Smith Cobb, Chad Allen Perkins, and Logan Wayne Perkins.
As we mourn the loss of Bobby, let us remember him as the remarkable individual he was. His impact on the community and the lives he touched will never be forgotten. May his soul find eternal peace and may we find comfort in the memories we shared with him.
