Robert Barnes

Robert "Spike" Barnes, 57, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on November 27, 1958 at his parents home in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Robert Matthew Barnes and Patricia Martin Barnes. He was the owner of Barnes Tree Service where he did Tree Trimming and Handyman work for over 30 years in Carroll County area. From 2009 - 2010 he had served as interim Mayor of the town of Prestonville, he had also previously served as a town Commissioner of Prestonville. When he wasn't working he enjoyed motorcycle rides, going on poker runs, traveling and socializing with friends and family. He was a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church in the town of Prestonville. He had served his country in the United States Army.

He will be missed by his son, Robert (Mandy) Barnes of Carrollton, KY; his companion, Rosey Rabourn of Carrollton, KY; a brother, Donald (Shirley) Stout of Punta Gorda, FL; three sisters, Thelma (Robert) Dixon of Campbellsville, KY; Barbara Bishop and Connie Smith, both of Carrollton, KY; three grandchildren, Bobby Webb, Marilyn Kellie Barnes and J.R. Barnes, all of Carrollton, KY; two great grandchildren, Melanie Webb and Annabell Barnes, both of Carrollton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Robert Barnes Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Visitation

Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the church and from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 also at the church.

Funeral

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Calvary Full Gospel Church, 39 Matticks Street, Carrollton, KY 41008 (town of Prestoniville) with the Rev. Bimp McAlister officiating the service.

Interment

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #41 of Carrollton at the graveside.
