Rita Jo Poe, age 58, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, IN. She was born on February 22, 1958 in Madison, Jefferson County, IN to Willie and Betty Robbins Burgess. She was of the Baptist faith, was a former cashier at Belterra Casino Resort and Spa in Florence, IN and a graduate of Carroll County High School.
Survivors include: three sons, Jeremy Poe of Carrollton, KY, Chance A. Embs of Carrollton, KY and Marquis D. Brightwell of Carrollton, KY, her father, Willie Burgess of Milton, KY, her companion, Jeffery Brightwell of Carrollton, KY, two sisters, Ranee Wilson of Madison, IN and Tracey Burgess-Austin of Milton, KY, three brothers, Ronnie Burgess, Rickey Burgess and Benny Burgess all of Madison, IN, and three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, her step-mother, Jenny Burgess and a brother, Terry Robbins.
