Ricky Allen Carter, age 59, born on November 13, 1964, in Carrollton, passed away on February 24, 2024, in Louisville. He was a graduate of Carroll County High School and later pursued a career in the construction industry.
Ricky also honorably served in the United States Army Special Forces as a Green Beret. His dedication and service to his country were commendable.
Outside of his professional life, Ricky had a variety of interests and hobbies. He took great pleasure in watching the University of Louisville Sports Teams and the Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and staying active through exercise.
He will be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends. Ricky is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sue Gullion (Gene) McMurry of Denton, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Carter (Brandon) Chappell of Winchester, KY; his sons, Ricky Carter Jr. of Winchester, KY, and Synjen Carter of Plainfield, IN; his sister, Debbie Weeden of Ponder, TX; and seven grandchildren.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Carter, and a brother, Kenneth McMurry Jr.
