Pauline Searcy Cutshaw Poindexter, 96, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 30, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born February 20, 1928, in Carrollton, KY, she spent her life nurturing relationships and creating cherished memories.
Pauline was known for her entrepreneurial spirit as the former owner of Riverside Antiques where she shared her passion for history and collectibles with countless visitors. Her enthusiasm for antiques reflected her deep appreciation for the past and her vibrant connection to the community.
In addition to her career, Pauline had other interests that brought her joy, particularly her fondness for watching hummingbirds. This simple pleasure mirrored her nurturing nature, as she found beauty and wonder in the world around her.
She had been a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church.
Pauline is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Marilyn (Fred) Hagerdon of Ghent, KY, and Nina Cutshaw Oney of Cape Coral, FL, and her son, Myron P. (Cindy) Cutshaw of Carrollton, KY. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Douglas Scott Montgomery, James Eric Montgomery, Michael Lee Cutshaw, Jr., Quincy Allen Cutshaw, James Scott Foreman, Paige Montgomery Poe, Nicole Lindsay Moore, and Celess Parson. Moreover, her legacy continues through her thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember her warmth and wisdom.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Haines Searcy and Ruth Howe Lindsay, her husband, William E. Poindexter, and her son, Michael Cutshaw, Sr. She also mourned the loss of two infant sons, Gary and Anthony Cutshaw, whose memories stayed close to her heart throughout her life.
A graveside service in celebration of her remarkable life will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM..
Pauline Searcy Cutshaw Poindexter will be remembered not only for her contributions to her community but also for the love and kindness she bestowed upon her family and friends. Her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.
