Paul Smith

Mr. Smith was born in Carrollton, Kentucky to Gene and Aileen Brown Smith who preceded him in death. He was the owner of Paul J. Smith Insurance and Realty Company in Carrollton. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. Paul also was Past President of the Carrollton Rotary Club, fomer member of the Carroll County School Board, former member of the Carrollton-Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Katherine Halmess Smith, four daughters, Paula Norris of Lexington, Kentucky, Claudia Way of Carrollton, Kentucky, Tootie Stewart of Indianapolis, Indiana and Kathy Elam of Lexington, Kentucky, three sons, John M. Smith of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, Bob Smith of Carrollton, Kentucky and Pat Smith of Richmond, Kentucky. Also surviving are two sisters, Evelyn Leach and Margie Merrill of Carrollton, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of gifts to the St. Vincent DePaul Association of Carroll County or the Carroll County Public Library Building Fund, in care of the funeral home
