Patsy Jean Tharp, a member of the Carrollton community, passed away on June 9, 2026, in Carrollton, KY. Born on May 22, 1949, in Carroll County, KY, Patsy lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and community.

Patsy retired from VF Factory Outlet, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. Beyond her career, she was an active member of Cross Roads Church and the Homemaker Club, organizations that reflected her commitment to fellowship and service.

A woman of many talents and warm spirit, Patsy took great pride in caring for her family. She found joy in sewing and was renowned for the many beautiful quilts she created. She loved cooking, playing cards with loved ones, and was a faithful viewer of the Hallmark Channel—all passions that brought happiness to those around her.

One of Patsy’s proudest accomplishments was marrying her beloved husband, Jerry Tharp, on August 26, 1960, a testament to a lifelong partnership filled with love and mutual respect.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Tharp; her daughters, Christie Hewitt of Carrollton, KY, and Valerie Lattimore of Tiffin, OH; her son, Danny Tharp of Carrollton, KY; her sisters, Mary Willis and Mable Proctor, both of Carrollton, KY; twelve cherished grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Patsy’s family served as the center of her world, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on through them.

Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Smith; her mother, Nanny Rabourn Smith; her sister, Anna Mildred “Millie” Smith; and her brothers Herschel, William Earl, and Jimmy Smith.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on June 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., honoring Patsy’s memory and celebrating her life.

Patsy Jean Tharp leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to family and faith. Her gentle spirit and heartfelt generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
