Patricia Elizabeth Pyles

Patricia Elizabeth Pyles, 80, of Louisville, formerly of Carrollton, passed away on August 26, 2023, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She was born on December 25th, 1942, in Louisville to the late John Joseph Hines and Margaret Daisy Warren Hines.

She dedicated 35 years of her life to serving others as a Respiratory Therapist at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She touched countless lives throughout her career and made a significant impact on the well-being of her patients.  Patricia's commitment to caring for others will be forever cherished.

Outside of work, Patricia found joy and relaxation in various hobbies and interests. She had a passion for working on jigsaw puzzles and word searches, fulfilling her love for mental challenges. Furthermore, she found delight in playing electronic games and watching true crime shows—an avid fan who appreciated the thrilling narratives they offered. Throughout her life, Patricia was also an ardent admirer of Elvis Presley—a testament to her timeless spirit.

Patricia was a loving wife to the late Harold M. "Smokey" Pyles until his passing on February 14, 2002. She is survived by two daughters, Marty (Donnie) Mills of Bedford, KY, and Mandi (Jeff Hedges) of Louisville, KY, a sister, Darlene Collier of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Robert "Bob" Hines of Goshen, IN, and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Joseph Hines and Margaret Daisy Warren Hines, a son, Mike Hammond, as well as her infant brother, Michael Hines. 

The funeral services to honor Patricia's life will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.  at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
