Nancy Jolley

December 24, 1944 — July 27, 2016

Nancy Carold Graves Jolley passed away after a five-year battle with cancer on July 27, 2016. Nancy was born in Carroll County, Kentucky on December 24, 1944, to Charles Raymond and Gipsy Lee (Winters) Hensley. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1962. She married Harold "Snookie" Graves (deceased, 1987) and together they had three children - whom she doted on: Mark Graves of Vicksburg, MS, Joseph Graves (Teri) of Burns, TN, and Catherine Mikulaninec (Eric) of San Antonio, TX. She leaves six beautiful grandchildren: Randy, Samantha, and Emerson Graves and Michael, Rosemary, and Daniel Mikulaninec. In 1999 she married William Jolley (deceased April 2016) and moved to Oldham County. She leaves her sisters Patsy Stewart of Carrollton, KY, Dian Ringwald of Florence, KY and Annette Sellers of San Antonio, TX, who she regarded as her best friend as well as her sister. (Preceded in death by her parents, first husband - Harold "Snookie" Graves, 1987, second husband, William Jolley, April 2016)

Nancy enjoyed traveling, which she did with her family from the time her children were very young. She was also a Roman Catholic by faith and volunteered for many years at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Carrollton, Ky. After her husband "Snookie" died in 1987, she served his role as Constable in Carroll County for three terms. She also became involved with Parents Without Partners and led many discussion sessions at that organization regarding single parenting. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending her many flowers. She held several jobs throughout her life - but she regarded her most important job as raising her children.

She died peacefully in her son Mark's home surrounded by family. Her last words were "I love you all." She always told her family "even after I'm gone I will still be around, so watch for me!"

Serving as pallbearers will be: Randy Graves, Randy Glauber, Michael Hill, Eric Mikulaninec, Richard Nelson and Jeff Beach. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Stewart.

The family would like to thank the caring and loving staff at Camelia Hospice in Vicksburg, MS for their assistance during Nancy's final days.
