Jackie Fay Robinson, 84, of Sanders, KY, died on Friday, February 10, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease at his residence in Sanders, KY, with his loving family by his side singing and praising the wonderful life that he had.

He was born on February 28, 1932 in Georgetown, Scott County, KY, the son of the late Edgar Smith and Lucille Harp Robinson. His biological father was killed in the “Battle Of The Bulge” and he was then raised by George Wood “Woody” Robinson. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, paying for it through his G.I. Bill and had attended Princeton University through a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship Scholarship. He was a graduate from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary in Cincinnati, OH, of which he became a minister in the Church of Christ.

He had driven for many years with Ryder Trucking as an over the road Truck Driver and spreading the Gospel. He had previously served as a Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at Syracuse University.

He is most well known for “The Robinson Family” Entertainment Group of which he and his wife Mary founded traveling along with their children all over the United States. They had gotten their start after being invited to the New York State Fair after winning a talent contest. They cut their first album at a recording studio in Nashville, TN. They had done National AD Commercials and once had a contract with the Chevron Oil Company.

He served his country his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a member of the English Christian Church in Carrollton, KY.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary Ruth Stephenson Robinson of Sanders, KY, two sons, Mark Andrew Wood Robinson of Sanders, KY, and Terry Matthew Robinson of New York State, four daughters, Rachel Dawn Lucille Smith of Shiloh, AZ, Rebekah Ruth Cluxton of Georgetown, KY, Julia Anna Jaddock of Georgetown, KY, and Susannah “B” Holder of Georgetown, KY, and thirteen grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Robinson.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Northside Christian Church, 117 East Jefferson Street, Georgetown, KY 40324 with Bro. Jerry Culley and Bro. Joe Carroway officiating the service. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A Graveside Service with full Military Honors will be on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, KY 41097.
