Minnie Louise Tilley

Florence, KY

Minnie Louise Tilley, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully at home in Florence, Boone County, Kentucky on February 3, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1932, in Carroll County, Kentucky. Minnie leaves behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.


Minnie was a woman of many talents and passions. She dedicated much of her life to serving others. She had a long and fulfilling career that spanned multiple fields. Minnie first worked for the F.B.I., demonstrating her unwavering commitment to public service. Later on, she retired from Conner Middle School in Florence as a food server. Her warm smile and caring nature touched the lives of countless students over the years.


Education was important to Minnie, and she graduated from Carrollton High School in 1950. This milestone marked the beginning of her journey through life. Throughout her years at school and beyond, she developed lifelong friendships that brought joy to her life.


She was a member of the Florence Baptist Church in Florence, Kentucky.


In her free time, Minnie enjoyed exploring new places and taking vacations whenever possible. She had a genuine love for meeting new people, striking up conversations with friends and strangers alike. Her social nature made it easy for others to feel comfortable around her. When she wasn't out on an adventure or engaging in friendly banter with loved ones, Minnie found relaxation in watching television.


Minnie's passing leaves a void in the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Minnie is survived by her sister, Linda Mae (Curt) Stangle of Carrollton, Kentucky; nieces and nephews Heather (Dave) Watts of Carrollton, Kentucky; Shaun (Ashley) Ogden, Allen, Pat, Joy, Danny and Ricky. and other extended family members and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Herschel Oak and Margaret Brown Oak; husband Allen Donald Tilley with whom she shared a beautiful marriage since 1950; sister Nancy Ray; and brother Herschel Duane Oak. Though they are no longer with us, their memory will forever be treasured in our hearts.


A graveside service for Minnie Louise Tilley will be held on February 7, 2024, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky. The service will begin at 1:00 P.M. The cemetery is located at 912 Seminary St, Carrollton, KY 41008.


Minnie's life was a shining example of compassion and dedication. She touched the lives of many during her time with us and left an indelible mark on our hearts. As we say farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember her with love and honor the impact she had on our lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
