Mayme Jewell Austin

Mayme Jewell Privett Austin, passed away on October 19, 2026, in Carrollton, Kentucky, at the age of 90. She was born on January 26, 1936, in McKinney, Kentucky.

Mrs. Austin was a homemaker whose life was centered on caring for her family and home. She was also known for her enjoyment of canning, cooking, and baking, pursuits that reflected her hardworking nature and the care she showed to others throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arnold Austin; her son, Robert D. Austin; her father and mother, O'Bannon Privett and Dollie Mae Middleton Privett; her sisters, Ella Mae Upton, Effie Preston and Dorothy Ann Privett; and her brothers Earl, Tommy, Donald, Claude, Eugene, and Lester Privett.

Mayme is survived by her daughters, Connie (Brad) Patton of Sanders, KY, Jamie Austin of North College Hill, Ohio, and Beverly (George) Wallace of Sanders, KY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.  Their bond as a family was an important part of her life, and her memory will remain close to those who knew and loved her.

She will be remembered with love and gratitude for the life she lived, the home she kept, and the many ways she cared for her family through the years. Her memory will continue to be cherished by all who hold her dear.
