Mary Lou Mefford, a devoted homemaker, passed away on October 19, 2023, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky. She was born on January 5, 1945, in Carrollton to her parents Harold Harmon and Cordelia Reeves Harmon.
Mary Lou was a beloved wife to her husband Johnnie Malcolm Mefford. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their children. Mary Lou was the heart of her family and cherished spending time with them. Her love knew no bounds as she nurtured her children and grandchildren with utmost care.
Outside of her role as a homemaker, Mary Lou had a passion for butterflies. She also dedicated herself to her faith as an Open Door Baptist Church member. Mary Lou's spirituality provided her strength throughout her life.
Mary Lou's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is mourned by her three sons, Quincy Mefford, Rick Mefford, and Danny Mefford, all residing in Worthville, Kentucky. In addition to her sons, Mary Lou is survived by two daughters: Tami Adair of Carrollton, Kentucky; and Keshia Mefford of Worthville, Kentucky.
The joy of Mary Lou's life extended to her grandchildren: Tim Gordon, Andrew Mefford, Joseph Perkins, Dakota Carmack, Trenton Taylor, Destiny Mefford, Ethen Mefford, and Anthony Adair. Each grandchild brought immense pride and happiness to their grandmother's life.
In addition to the legacy left within her immediate family, Mary Lou is also remembered by other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Harmon and Cordelia Reeves Harmon as well as two brothers: Harold J. Harmon and Randy D. Harmon.
To honor the life and memory of Mary Lou Mefford, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the Worthville Cemetery in Worthville, Kentucky. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
