Martha Jean Earle, 93, of Ghent, KY, died on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born on March 22, 1926 in Ghent, Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Arthur Rocker Schirmer and Lucille Vories Schirmer.  She was a housewife and a former member of the former Ghent Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn West of Ellettsville, IN, a son, David Lee Earle of Columbus, IN, a sister, Mary Lou (Ike) Smith of Carrollton,  a granddaughter, Angela Michelle Levine of Indianapolis, IN, and a great granddaughter, Charlotte Samantha Levine of Indianapolis, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sam L. Earle on January 7, 2010,  four sisters, June Darnold, Sara Louise Bohanon and Betty Hammer, and a infant sister, Hazel Schirmer, two brothers, Stanley “Buster” Schirmer and a  infant brother, David Schirmer.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
