Mark Christian Ray

Mark Christian Ray, of Sparta, Gallatin County, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on Wednesday, September 19, 1956, in Panama City, Bay County, Florida.

Mark will be remembered as a hardworking man who retired from Celotex, where he worked as an electrician and maintenance technician. Outside of work, he found joy in many pursuits and especially enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, duck hunting, playing guitar, and working on his Harley. He was also a proud member of the American Legion Honor Guard and the American Legion Riders, organizations that reflected his sense of fellowship and service.

Family was an important part of Mark’s life. He is survived by his son, Jason (Brandy) Ray; his stepmother, Hazel Ray; his stepson, Doug (Kimber) Fain; his stepsister, Jeanette Buchanan; his half-sister, Kellie Wood; his brothers, Vic (Lynn) Ray and Greg (Janie) Ray; and his grandchildren, Corbin Fain and Selina Fain. May their memories of Mark bring comfort in the days ahead and remain a lasting source of strength and love.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Ray; his mother, Giesla Nitche Ray; his wife, Colleen Ray; and his stepbrother, Kenny Ray.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, Kentucky 41008. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #41 Honor Guard at the funeral home.
