Mark Metsker, Sr. of Worthville, Kentucky, passed away on May 28, 2025, at Brownsboro Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 25, 1953, in LaSalle, Illinois, and lived a fulfilling life marked by dedication, creativity, and deep faith.
Mark retired as a journeyman iron worker with Local 70, where he was known for his exceptional work ethic and commitment to his craft. His career was a testament to his character; he embodied the spirit of hard work and perseverance. Beyond his professional life, Mark was a Ky Colonel, a title reflecting his distinguished service and commitment to his community.
A man of faith, Mark carried his beliefs with him into every aspect of his life. He was recognized not only for his labor but for his kind and generous spirit. He had a natural talent for creativity and artistry, often sharing these gifts with family and friends.
In his leisure time, Mark loved to be outdoors, finding joy in fishing, golfing, and canoeing. A naturally talented musician and singer, he delighted those around him with his melodies. He was particularly known for making the very best chocolate chip cookies, a treat that brought smiles and comfort to all who tasted them.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Vicki Metsker, their son Mark (Patty) Metsker, Jr. of Crestwood, KY, and his brother Jerry Metsker. He also leaves behind nephews Todd, Charlie, and Frank (Tarra), granddaughter Katie (Ben) Schirmer, and great-grandson Wyatt Schirmer.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Metsker, mother Laverne Metsker, son Jamie Metsker, nephew Steve, and cousin Scottie.
Mark Metsker, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering faith, creativity, and love for family and friends. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
