Margaret Virginia Sharon Rollins, born on September 15, 1929, in Owen County, Kentucky, departed this life on May 20, 2025, in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. Known for her unwavering spirit and dedication to her family, Margaret made an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Margaret last served as the Postmaster at the Worthville Post Office, a role that showcased her commitment to her community and her work ethic. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for refinishing furniture, an art form that allowed her creativity and craftsmanship to shine. Margaret also cherished her time spent in the garden, where she nurtured not only plants but also her family’s fond memories of summer afternoons.
A devoted matriarch, she was a loving mother to her sons, Mark Rollins of Carrollton, Kentucky, and Andy Rollins of Lexington, Kentucky. She embraced her role as a grandmother with joy, leaving behind cherished moments with her granddaughter.
Margaret will be fondly remembered by her loved ones and community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling Sharon and Bertha Fuller Sharon; her husband, Jack Rollins; and her sisters, Evel Hensley, Mildred Clifton, and Christine Kulle. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Roy, Raymond, Orville, and Leslie Sharon.
A graveside service to honor Margaret's life will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, Kentucky. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate her legacy and the warmth she brought into our lives.
