Marcia Drue Kelly

Marcia Drue  "Marcie" Kelly, born on May 2, 1982, in Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Marcie's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A cherished daughter, Marcie is survived by her devoted mother, Marie Kelly, who was a constant source of strength and support throughout her life. She also leaves behind her loving siblings: sister Rachael  (Gary) La Porte, sister by chance and caretaker by choice, Kate Widener,  and brothers Josh (Kate) Kelly and Jacob Kelly, each of whom shared a special bond with Marcie and will hold her memory close in their hearts.

Family was at the heart of Marcie's world. She deeply admired her proxy grandmother, Margaret Dailey, and maintained profound connections with her aunts: Rebecca Kelly, Teresa Graham, and Vickie Kelly. Marcie was a beloved aunt to Kayden Kelly, Shelden Kelly, and Kali Rayne Kelly, sharing joyful times and treasured memories with each of them. Her cousins—Angel Kelly, Alex Kelly, and Haven La Porte—remember her as a source of light and laughter within the family.

Though she leaves behind many who mourn her passing, Marcie joins in eternal rest her grandfather Randall Kelly, grandmother Minnie Kelly, uncles Randy and Michael Kelly, and her aunt Eva Kelly, whose memories she cherished.

Marcie's life was marked by her joyful passions and infectious enthusiasm. She delighted in simple pleasures, such as the bright gleam of balloons, butterflies, the playful humor of Spongebob Squarepants, and anything cheerful and yellow. Her love of whimsy and lighthearted moments brought happiness to gatherings and was a reflection of her warm personality.

Her legacy is not only marked by the relationships she nurtured but also by the enduring sense of joy and vivid color she brought into the lives of her family and friends. Marcie will be fondly remembered for her vibrant spirit, kind heart, and the smiles she inspired in others.

A graveside service honoring Marcia Drue Kelly’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on July 11, 2026, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, located at 912 Seminary Street, Carrollton, Kentucky. All who were touched by her presence are welcome to join in paying their final respects.

Marcie's warmth and light will be deeply missed, yet her memory will remain an everlasting blessing in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
