Marcella Laverne Young Stethen

Marcella Laverne Young Stethen, of Carrollton Kentucky, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Louisville at the age of 75. She was born on November 14, 1950, in Madison, Indiana.

Marcella will be remembered as a hardworking woman who was previously employed as an Inspector at Teledyne-Wirz Tube Factory in Carrollton. Outside of her work, she found enjoyment in watching wrestling and in raising cats, simple pleasures that brought her happiness and reflected her spirited and caring nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette (Rodney) Adams . She also leaves behind her sisters, Evelyn Chadwell, Marilyn Robbins, and Patricia Smith, all of Carrollton. Marcella’s memory will live on in her grandchildren, Alex Adams, Ben Adams, and Danielle  (Jacob) Becraft , as well as in her great-grandchild, Willow Becraft. Surrounded by the love of her family, her life leaves a lasting impression on those who knew her best, and her memory will be cherished in the days ahead.

Marcella was preceded in death by her father, Carl Pleasant Young; her mother, June Evelyn Brushfield Young; her husband, Jerry Wayne Stethen; her sons, Larry Wayne Howard, Jr. and Courtland Pleasant Howard; and her brother, Carl Young.

All Services will be private.
