Carrollton

Madeline Marie Stethen, 53, a cherished individual, gracefully left this world on August 29, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1970, in Edgewood, Kenton County, Kentucky. Madeline passed at her Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky home. She will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the lasting impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.

In 1988, Madeline achieved the significant milestone of graduating from Boone County School. Madeline embarked on a fulfilling career in the restaurant industry as a manager. Her dedication and passion brought immense joy and satisfaction to her work.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Madeline had many interests that brought joy into her life. She found solace in watching crime shows and had an adventurous spirit that led her to travel to Florida whenever she could. However, nothing delighted Madeline more than spending quality time with her family and beloved grandkids. Their presence brought immeasurable happiness to her heart.

She was currently serving as President of the American Legion Post #41 Ladies Auxiliary and truly enjoyed volunteering at the American Legion.  Being of the Baptist faith she had attended Union Baptist Church in Union, KY. Over the last year, Madeline was awarded the honor of being selected as a Kentucky Colonel.

Madeline's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who held her dear. She is survived by her loving husband Troy Stethen of Carrollton, KY, who faithfully stood by her side throughout their journey together. Madeline also leaves behind a son, Aaron Lloyd (Maggie Schneider)of Taylor Mill, KY, and two daughters Erica (Brad) Hardesty of Blytheville, AR, and Tiffany (Caleb) Couch of Worthville, KY.

The memories of Madeline will forever be treasured by two sisters; Mary Tucker of Burkesville, KY, Bonnie Flowers of Wilcox, AZ; and one brother Chester Shears of Williamstown, KY. Additionally, she leaves behind six grandchildren, Adrianna Couch, Cash Noble, Whitney Hardesty, Natalie Hardesty, Lucas Hardesty, and Sadie Hardesty.

While we mourn Madeline's departure from this world, we take solace in knowing she is reunited with her dear parents, Harold Clifford Shears and Ester Fugate Shears. She also joins her two sons, Michael Lloyd and Gerald Lloyd along with three brothers Steve Moore, Robert Moore, and Raymond Shears in eternal peace.
