Lucien Treadway Cole, 83, a devoted farmer who dedicated his life to raising horses, cows, pigs, and tobacco, has passed away at his home in Turners Station, Kentucky. Born on October 1, 1940, in Sulphur, Kentucky, Lucien lived a fulfilling life surrounded by his loved ones and cherished career.
Lucien began his farming journey at a young age and quickly developed a deep passion for the land and its bounties. His innate understanding of agriculture led him to excel in his chosen profession. Lucien's commitment to nurturing crops and caring for animals became the hallmark of his career. He possessed an unwavering dedication to tending the land and created a legacy that will forever be remembered.
He honorably served in the United States Army before transferring to the Army Reserves. This service exemplifies his sense of duty towards his country and fellow citizens.
Lucien's life was truly enriched by the love he shared with those closest to him. He is mourned by his beloved wife, Linda Hughes Cole of Turners Station, Kentucky; daughter Rebecca Ward of New Castle, Kentucky; son Michael (Jennifer) Cole, also of Turners Station; stepdaughter Ann (Bill) Wainscott of Carrollton, KY; and stepson Troy (Beverly) Stewart of Ghent, KY.
He was preceded in death by his his parents, Frank Cole and Corna Slusher Cole, his brother John Cole and sisters Dorothy Browning and Nancy Kidwell.
Lucien's role as a nurturing father extended beyond biological ties. His impact on future generations is immeasurable as he leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Their lives will forever be influenced by his wisdom and love.
To honor and celebrate Lucien's life, visitation will be held at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the English Cemetery near Carrollton, Kentucky.
