Leon Bates

June 7, 1930 — August 1, 2005

Chigger died at the Veterans Administration Medical Center on Monday. He was born at Turners Station, Henry County, Kentucky to Eugene and Belle Tingle Bates, who preceded him in death. He was retired from Kawneer Corp and farming. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

His survivors are: his wife, Mary Rose Bates, three daughters: Rita Sutherland of Carrollton, KY, Delsie Bates of Milton, KY and Rochelle Wilson of Warsaw, KY, a son: Levy Bates of Carrollton, KY, one brother: Robert Bates of Carrollton, KY. 10 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death also by a son: Gerald Bates and 4 brothers: Raymond, William, Vernon and Franklin Bates.

Funeral services will be officiated by the Rev. Bobby Wade.
