Larry Poe "Rusty" Towles, 76, of Worthville, KY, died on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY. He was born April 23, 1939 in Stamping Ground, Scott County, KY, the son of the late Edgar Victoria Towles and Oma Josie Poe Towles. He was a retired Farmer and Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 181 based in Henderson, KY. He was a member of the Dallasburg Baptist Church in Wheatley, KY ,and the Dallasburg Masonic Lodge #621 F & A.M. in Wheatley, KY. He was a former member of the Worthville Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Army National Guard. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved to farm. He enjoyed following his children's and grandchildren's activities. He will be missed by his wife, Anita Sue McCreary Towles, to whom he married on November 12, 1961, two daughters, Kellie Renee Harrison (husband Greg) of Crestwood, KY, and Karen Towles Blythe (husband Scott) of Perry Park, KY, three brothers, Don Calvin Towles, Lester Towles and Leslie Towles, all of Wheatley, KY, three sisters, Ann Kathryn Wainscott of Wheatley, KY, Nila Marksberry of Fairview, KY, and Cora Pauline Duvall of Cincinnati, OH, four grandchildren, Jacob Luther Fuller (wife Taylor) of Louisville, KY, Samantha Sue Harrison and Caroline Nicole Harrison, both of Crestwood, KY, and Andrew Jacob Blythe of Walton, KY, a great granddaughter, Isla Paisley Blythe of Walton, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Edgar Vernon Towles, Walter Towles and Gerald Scott Towles, four sisters, Flora Evelyn Farrow, Mary Ruth Lock, Lucy Mae Steigler and Lorena Towles. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Dallasburg Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Dallasburg Baptist Church in Wheatley, KY.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dallasburg Baptist Church in Wheatley, KY, with the Rev. Tim Sperduto officiating the service.
Burial will be in the I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
