Julia Carol Raisor, age 88, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Baptist Health, Louisville, KY. She was born in Wheatley, Owen County, KY on November 28, 1930 to Roy B. and Mildred Scott Riley Wilson. Julia grew up in the Dallasburg Baptist Church in Wheatley, Ky and after marrying Bill Raisor on June 18, 1949 she became a member of Whites Run Christian Church. She was active in many facets of the church serving as Sunday School Teacher and active in the Missionary Society. After the closing of Whites Run Christian Church, she then joined the Whites Run Baptist Church, where she remained equally as active, even serving on the flower and kitchen committees. She was a former member of the Sanders Homemakers Club, was active, along with her husband, in the Happy Hills Christian Camp in Carroll County and enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and vegetables. Julia worked as a medical office receptionist for Dr. Donald Roney and Dr. Cecil Martin in Carrollton, KY for over 30 years at her retirement and she also farmed with her husband their entire marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Raisor; a daughter, Cindy Raisor (Greg) Mears of Carolina Beach, NC, a son, Joe C. (Wanda) Raisor of Sanders, KY; a sister, Gypsy Oak of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Robert Wilson of Carrollton, KY, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James P. Wilson.
