Judy Lynn Bates Taylor Lindsay, passed away on December 29, 2023, in LaGrange, KY. She was born on February 6, 1945, in Bedford, KY to her parents, Raymond E. Bates, Sr. and Dorothy Tingle. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy had a vibrant personality and her love for others was evident in everything she did. She had a strong bond with her family and friends and always put them first. Her kind heart and warm smile brought joy to those around her.

Education played an important role in Judy's life, and she was proud to be a graduate of Carroll County High School. Throughout her career, she held various positions at Petropolis including Owner and The Kroger Co., Oldham and Henry County Schools both and Bonworth Clothing. Judy's dedication and hard work were admired by her colleagues.

In her free time, Judy had a number of hobbies and interests that brought her great pleasure.  She was an avid pet and animal lover who found solace in the companionship they provided. Traveling with her family was another passion that allowed her to create precious memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Lindsay, her devoted daughters, Khris Batts Berry and husband William of Goshen, KY and Denise Batts Wisdom and husband Joe of LaGrange, KY who are left to carry on her legacy as well. Judy was adored by her grandchildren Josh Aaron, Brittney Valle, Drew Wisdom, Brendon Wisdom, and Callie Wisdom. She took immense joy in watching them grow and blossom into the remarkable individuals they are today. Judy was also blessed with great-grandchildren Shelby Aaron, Makenzie Aaron, Rhett Aaron, Kash Wisdom, and Francine Valle who brought endless amounts of happiness and love to her life.  Her presence will forever be missed by her sister Carolyn Brown of Lexington, KY and brother Noble Bates of Carrollton, KY and also by her bonus children, Linda K. Ferguson, Karen A. Hawkins, and Cheryl B. Bowker  and James R. Lindsay and six bonus grandchildren.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, Russell Taylor,  her sister Joan Taylor and brother Raymond "Buster" Bates. Although they are no longer with us, their spirits will live on through the loving memories they shared with Judy.

A Celebration of Life for Judy Lynn Bates Taylor Lindsay will be held on February 6, 2024, at The Springs at Oldham Reserve in La Grange, KY. The event will commence at 4:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM. The family invites friends and family  to join in commemorating and celebrating the beautiful life of Judy Lynn Bates Taylor Lindsay. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to www.theaftd.org, (The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.)   Her compassionate spirit will continue to shine through these acts of kindness.

Judy Lynn Bates Taylor Lindsay brought light into the lives of countless individuals around her and never met a stranger.. Her selfless nature and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace in heaven as her spirit continues to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
