Juanita Marie Smith

Juanita Marie Smith, born on August 18, 1941, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, November 20, 2025. 

Juanita devoted much her life to her family as a beloved housewife, and for several years, she successfully ran a cleaning business. Her commitment to hard work was matched only by her warmth and kindness. Juanita was an active member of Cove Hill Baptist Church, where she found solace and community among her fellow congregants.

In her leisure time, Juanita found joy in nurturing her garden, working on puzzles, and caring for the cats that wandered into her life. Additionally, she cherished the moments spent socializing at the McDonald's in Carrollton, where she enjoyed connecting with friends.

Juanita leaves behind her loving husband, J.D. Smith of Carrollton, KY, as well as her two sons, Donnie (Diane) Smith and Shawn (Deana) Smith, both of Carrollton, KY. She is also survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Elmer Rose and Ora Lee Gordon Rose, a sister, Mary Lee Bates, and two brothers, Elmer Junior Rose and Junior Lee Rose.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cove Hill Baptist Church, located at 4751 Mound Hill Rd, Carrollton, KY. This will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Cove Hill Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

Juanita Marie Smith's legacy will continue to live on through her family and friends, who will forever remember her devotion to them and the joy she brought to their lives.
