John Richard Washburn, 80, of Ghent, KY, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his residence in Ghent, KY.
He was born on November 22, 1936 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late John Samuel Washburn and Mary Elva Calvert Washburn. He had worked for the former Teledyne-Wirz Factory in Carrollton as a Foundry Operator and had also worked as a laborer for Lykins Construction in Ghent, KY. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracey A. (Richard) Kemper of Wheatley, KY, a sister, Linda (Bob) Stamper of Carrollton, KY, four grandchildren, Leslie Baur of Milton, KY, Jessica Lambess of Cincinnati, OH, Erin Kemper and Emily Kemper, both of Wheatley, KY, and three great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce Ann Meece Washburn in 1995, a son, John Richard "Ricky" Washburn, Jr., a brother, George William "Bill" Washburn and a sister, Marlene Schirmer.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
