John Henry Shafer, 94, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at his residence in Milton, KY.
He was born on October 4, 1920 in Covington, Kenton County, KY, the son of the late Albert Shafer and Mildred Clark Shafer. He was retired from the Ashland Oil Company as a Oil Tanker Driver. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #203 in Latonia, KY.
He is survived by two sons, John D. Shafer of Port Orange, FL, and Paul D. Shafer of Lexington, KY, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ada M. (Cooper) Shafer, two sisters, Caroline Massie and Lucille Gardner.
The Funeral was at Noon on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation was from 10:00 A.M. - Noon on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service was on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY.
