Jimmy Lane Marshall, 72, of Carrollton, KY, died on Thursday morning, February 22, 2018 at his home in Carrollton. He was loved and cherished by many in the community.
He was born February 21, 1946 in Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Lyman Richard Marshall and Lillian Thomas Moore Marshall. He was a 1964 graduate of the former Carrollton High School. He was a retired Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service, having delivered mail from 1988 –2006 in the Carrollton area. He had owned Carrollton Sheet Metal from 1976-1988. He was a faithful member of the English Christian Church in Carrollton, KY.
He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, entering active duty on February 10, 1966 at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico having obtained the rank of Staff Sargent upon his discharge on December 9, 1969, then entering the Air Force Reserves until December 21, 1971.
He will be dearly missed by his two sisters, Sue (Francisco) Leite and JoKay (David) Clark, both of Carrollton, KY, two brothers, David (Pat) Marshall of Madison, IN, and Dr. Thomas (Marion Lita) Marshall of Owenton, KY, his companion, Linda, five nephews, three nieces, eight great nephews and eight great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Garry Marshall in 1956.
