Jerry Wayne Stethen

Jerry Wayne Stethen, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born on July 25, 1951, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky, where he spent his entire life.

Jerry dedicated many years of his career to the Kentucky State Highway Department, proudly serving as a Heavy Equipment Operator. His contributions on the job were notable, reflecting his commitment to public service and his strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Jerry had a passion for maintaining his yard, finding joy in nurturing the beauty of his surroundings. Additionally, he took great pride in keeping his car clean, enjoying the simple pleasures in life that brought him happiness and satisfaction.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella Young Stethen, alongside his stepdaughter, Jeanette (Rodney) Adams, of Carrollton, KY. Jerry is also survived by his brothers, Clyde Stethen and Troy (Lita) Harrell, and his sisters, Lavada Beckham and Mary Alice Hughes, all of Carrollton, his grandchildren, Alex and Ben Adams, and Danielle (Jacob) Becraft.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Stethen and Mary Margaret Barnes Harrell, as well as his stepsons, Larry Wayne Howard, Jr., and Courtland Pleasant Howard. Additionally, he was mourned by his deceased brothers, David and George Stethen, and sisters, Doris Jean Stethen and Sharon Richmond.
