Jennie Canine

   Jennie Gibson Canine, 91, of Carrollton, KY, passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in Carrollton.

  She was born on March 6, 1932, in Carrollton, KY, the daughter of the late Hildred White and Ella Winburn White.  Jennie was a graduate of the Lincoln Institute and spent most of her life raising her children and taking care of  their home.  She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Carrollton and enjoyed reading and watching television in her spare time.

  Survivors include four daughters;  Roxanne Canine of Louisville, KY, Vickie Mahoney of Carrollton, KY, Elizabeth Canine of Carrollton, KY, and Kathy Jones of La Grange, KY, a son; Lester Canine of Carrollton, KY, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive her.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Roy Less Canine, Sr., her son; Roy N. Canine, Jr., a daughter; Becky Ellis Canine, a sister; Ora Mae White, and two brothers; Andrew and Hildred “Bunk” White.

  Her Homegoing Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Second Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Wayne Harris officiating her service.  Burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Second Baptist Church of Carrollton in care of the funeral home.
