James Harold Marksberry, 74, of Sanders, KY, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Jeffeson County, KY.
He was born on April 23, 1943 in Sparta, Gallatin County, KY, the son of the late Richard Marksberry and Thelma Clark Marksberry. He had served his country in the United States Army, entering active duty on March 20, 1966 and being Honorably Discharged on August 14, 1969, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. During his service to our Country, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He had worked and retired from Valley Asphalt in Northern Kentucky in Roadwork Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Marksberry of Sanders, KY, a daughter, Rita Baker of Walton, KY, a son, Michael Marksberry of Bowling Green , KY, two sisters, Latisha Jones of Hebron, KY, and Mary Palmer of Grant County, KY, a brother, Garnett Marksberry of Carrollton, KY, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Steven Marksberry, two sisters, Josephine Howell and Carol Davis, a brother, Fredrick Allen Sipple.
At his request no formal services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
