Harold S. Coombs

October 15, 1925 — February 8, 2006

Harold S. "Bud" Coombs, 80, of Carrollton, KY., died on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 3:18 P.M. at the Carroll County Hospital in Carrollton.

He was born in Carrollton, KY., the son of the late W.O. and Bessie Staten Coombs. He was the retired owner of H.S. "Bud" Coombs Heating, Electric and Air Conditioning. "Bud" as he was commonly known was a faithfull member of the Carrollton Christian Church for many years serving as a Deacon, Elder and serving on the Church Board of Directors. Bud took great pride in maintaining the Equipment and Maintenance needs of the church for many years. Bud served his Country in the U.S. Army as a Sargeant during W.W.II. He was a former member of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club.

Bud will be missed by his wife; Hazel P. Coombs, to whom he married on June 29, 1946. Bud and Hazel were blessed with a son; Scott T. Coombs and his wife Mary Ellis Coombs of Carrollton, KY., and two grandchildren; Josh and Sarah Coombs both of Lexington, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Myrtle Carter and Jessie Tingle and two brothers; Tommy and Bill Coombs.

The Rev. Amanda Hines and Rev. Donald Lee "Cyprian" Naftz will Conduct the Funeral Service on Monday at the church.

The American Legion Post #9 from Madison, IN., will conduct Military Honors at the Graveside on Monday.

Memorial Gifts are suggested to the Carrollton Christian Church in Lieu of Flowers.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
