George Newton Finney, 91, of Carrollton, KY., formerly of Frankfort, IN., died on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Green Valley Health & Rehab. Center in Carrollton, KY.He was born on August 28, 1918 in Clinton County, IN., the son of the late Albert and Elsie Brammel Finney. George was a retired cook for U.S. Steel Great Lakes Fleet and a member of The Pentecostals of Carrollton. He was a World War II. veteran having served as a Medic in the U.S. Army.He is survived by his wife; Frances Walker Finney of Carrollton, KY., two son's David(Jean) Finney of Carrollton, KY., and Lyndon Finney of Frankfort, IN.,a daughter in-law; Lee Anne Finney of Carrollton, KY., a brother; Roscoe Finney of Frankfort, IN., six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral Services were at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Zion Apostolic Tabernacle in Frankfort, IN. The Rev. Robert Hackler, Rev. Ron Tiller & Rev. Jonathan Hussey officiated the service. Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, IN.The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
